Presentation

  • View Attributes
  • Used to set view attributes that affect whether and how certain types and classes of elements display and whether certain drawing aids display.
 

Primary

  • Explorer
  • Used to browse project content within Bentley View.
  • References
  • Used to select, attach and reload references.
  • Raster Manager
  • Used to control the display of one or more raster images in a DGN file view.
  • Point Clouds
  • Used to manage the display of one or more point clouds in a DGN file view.
  • Models
  • Used to switch between models in the open DGN file.
  • Apply Saved View
  • Used to apply the saved view to the selected view or all open views.
  • Properties
  • Used to review the properties of an element(s), such as its geometry.
  • Key-in
  • Used to browse, construct, and enter key-ins.
  • Toggle AccuDraw
  • Turns on/off AccuDraw, and the display of the AccuDraw Window, which is used to facilitate data point entry.
  • Saved Views
  • Used to apply saved views and view properties of saved views.
  • Details
  • Used to display information related to what is selected in any of the tabs of the Explorer dialog.
  • Window List
  • Used to display information related to what is selected in any of the tabs of the Explorer dialog.
 

Selection

  • Element Selection
  • Used to select and deselect elements for identification. The set of selected elements is called the selection set.
 

Tools

  • Window Area
  • Used to define the boundaries of a rectangular area of the active model to be displayed within a view.
  • Zoom Out
  • Decreases a view's magnification, making elements appear smaller.
  • Fit View
  • Adjusts the view magnification so that the entire model is visible in the view.
  • Update View
  • Updates the contents of a view window(s).
  • Zoom In
  • Increases a view window's magnification, making elements appear larger.
  • Pan View
  • Used to view a different part of the design without changing the view magnification.
  • Displayset Set
  • Displays the selected elements and hides all other elements in the view.
  • Displayset Add
  • Adds the selected elements to the displayset.
  • Displayset Remove
  • Removes the selected elements from the displayset.
  • Displayset Clear
  • Clears the displayset to show all the elements in the view.
  • Change view to left view
  • Change active view to left view.
  • View Previous
  • Undoes the last viewing operation (view control operation or view attribute change).
  • Change view to top view
  • Change active view to top view.
  • Change view to front view
  • Change active view to front view.
  • Change view to back view
  • Change active view to back view.
  • Isometric view
  • Change active view to isometric view.
  • Right-isometric view
  • Change active view to right-isometric view.
  • Bottom view
  • Change active view to bottom view.
  • Walk
  • Used to interactively "walk" through a 3D view of a building, plant, or other design.
  • Fly
  • Used to "fly" interactively through a 3D model.
  • Navigate View
  • Used to interactively move the view camera in a view.
  • Change view to right view
  • Change active view to right view.
  • View Next
  • Redoes the last undone viewing operation.
 

Camera

  • Normal Camera
  • Set perspective in a view to match a normal camera lens.
  • Extra Wide Camera
  • Set perspective in a view to match an extra wide angle camera lens.
  • Telephoto Camera
  • Set perspective in a view to match a telephoto camera lens.
  • Two Point Projection
  • (Hidden by default) Set perspective in a view to two point projection.
  • Camera Off
  • Turn off a view camera.
  • Place Camera
  • Used to setup a view camera, in 3 point projection mode, by entering data points to define first the camera location, then the camera target location.
 

Measure

  • The radius of a circle or circular arc.
  • The radius of a cone or cylinder.
  • The primary and secondary axes of an ellipse or elliptical arc.
  • The radius of a circular segment or axes of an elliptical segment of a complex chain or complex shape.
  • Measure Angle
  • Used to measure the angle between two lines or segments of a line string, shape, or multi-line.
  • Measure Length
  • Used to measure the length of an element(s) and analyze mass properties.
  • Measure Volume
  • (3D only) Used to measure the volume enclosed by an element or a set of elements and to analyze mass properties.
 

Window

  • Copy View
  • Used to copy the contents of an entire view and its corresponding attributes to other views.
  • Cascade
  • Stacks view windows in numerical order with the lowest numbered window entirely visible and the title bar of each remaining window visible.
  • Tile
  • Tiles view windows between all docked windows and dialogs near the edges of the Bentley View window.
  • Arrange
  • Resizes all view windows so that they fit tightly within the available space without overlapping.
  • View Size
  • Used to control the size of the view.
 

View Groups

  • Prev
  • Lets you access the previous model in the session history by clicking the left arrow. Alternatively, you can click the down arrow and select a previously accessed model from a drop-down list.
  • Next
  • Lets you access the next model in the session history by clicking the right arrow. Alternatively, you can click the down arrow and select the next model from a drop-down list.
  • All Visited
  • Clicking the down arrow displays a drop-down list of all models accessed, from which you can select a model to open.
  • Views toggles
  • Click the numbered buttons to open or close individual view windows (equivalent to choosing the numbered items in the View Groups ribbon group).
  • View Group
  • Displays the name of the view group as well as the model with which it is associated, and allows you select a different view group.
